5 Winter interior design options to make your home more beautiful
In the summer we tend to spend more time outside. By the time winter comes and we put the clocks back, things change. It's dark a lot earlier and we spend more time indoors. We've created a 5 step guide on how to make your home more beautiful for Winter.
1. Add extra lighting
In the winter months with long dark evenings, it's important to add extra lighting. You might notice that corners of rooms appear a lot darker now that it is darker outside, so it would make sense to increase the amount of lighting you have.
Worklamps are great as they can easily be added to a room and put away when not needed. They can either sit on a shelf or be hung up by simply attaching a wall hook to the ceiling.
2. Blankets and cushions
When evenings get darker it's always nice to snuggle up on the sofa under a nice blanket. Make sure you have plenty of blankets and extra cushions to create a comfortable space to enjoy an evening. Try changing cushion covers and blankets with the seasons. With white interiors it makes it easy as you can add any colour.
Make sure you have nice baskets to put the blankets in too. They will add texture as well as colour.
3. Candles
By adding candles you create a nice atmosphere in a room. At the moment scented candles are available in most shop and supermarkets. Scented candles create nice mood lighting as well as a nice scent. It's preferable to use a candle that has gentle and soft smell, so it's not too overpowering. Why not mix candles and scented candles.
Gold candle holders from flea markets and secondhand shops are very trendy just now.
4. Sheepskin rugs and floor rugs
To keep our feet warm in the Autumn and Winter months it's nice to add rugs. Not only do they look good, they're nice and comfortable to walk on.
Add sheepskin rugs faux or real to your sofa and armchairs. They keep you warm as well as look good. You can get them in different colours.

5. Nature
The green plant trend seem to have taken over completely the last couple of years. Add green plants to create a little green jungle. Plants will make your living room feel both inviting and fresh as well as bringing the outside in.
During the winter months it's also nice to pick a few branches to brighten up the living space.
